Cinnamon has caused sensitivity in my teeth???

I have been using Cinnamon to flavor my oatmeal for about a year.....I also take cinnamon tablets......Lately, in the last 3 mos. I have had severe sensitivity (hot or cold) in all my teeth. I always thought cinnamon was a good thing...maybe not so?

You do not know for sure if your sensitivity is coming from the cinnamon, but I would suggest trying to exclude it from your diet for a week or so to see if it makes any difference. If it doesn't and you are still having a lot of sensitivity, then it means that the cinnamon is not actually your problem. Another recommendation, try using sensodyne toothpaste. When my teeth start to feel senstive I use sensodyne and it's gone within a few days.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

People can have reactions to Cinnamon OD, but it typically involves breathing disorders, indigestion or skin rashes.  Caxie's suggestion of avoiding cinnamon briefly is a good idea, but if the problem persists, you should consult your dentist.
