This problem can be the result of exclusively using humidor solution. You are only supposed to use the solution once every 2 to 3 months, and use distilled water all the other times. Using the solution exclusively will eventually clog the humidifier and render it useless. Since the humidor was working for about 8 months, odds are that it is the solution issue as that is how long it takes to clog up the humidifier.
