Can I go to Christmas parties alone?

I have been invited to several different Christmas parties at friends' and co-workers' homes. I am not dating anyone right now, which is incredibly lonely during the holiday season. Should I bring a friend as a date with me or just go alone and hope to meet other singles? What can I do to deal with the loneliness this time of the year?

Holidays can be extremely lonely.  If you feel uncomfortable going to the parties alone than it is acceptable to bring a friend or see if some other co-workers will be attending as singles and all go together.  Either way, parties like this make the holidays less lonely because you get out and have fun with friends, family, and co-workers!

First of all, I think you have to go alone to those different parties, you never know when you can meet someone Wink and about your loneliness, it's not a big deal, nobody has died for it, isnt' it? Besides you always have other people to share, like your family, your co-workers, your friends, so please, don't be sad at this season, remember that there are a lot of things worse than to be alone!

Happy Holidays!

I would say there's no problem going alone. It's all in the way you think about it. Simply look at these parties as an opportunity to meet other singles. There's great potential in these parties to find someone to go out with, since many people arrive alone knowing there will be others like them.

I say go enjoy yourself and don't give too much thought to whether you have a date or not. Enjoy.
