Real or fake, what sort of tree are you decorating this year?
i don't believe in the whole idea of cutting down millions of trees for christmas... so i'll go for fake.
We bought a fake tree a few yrs ago and I really like it. I can put it up earlier, don't have to worry about it catching fire and it's more cost efficient. One problem I had was that it doesn't smell like a real Christmas tree. But I warm a candle on the candle warmer and it feels the house with the same smell. :)

This answer is only for the adventurous. I once bought a six foot by six foot piece of dark green carpeting, stapled it to the appropriate wall and decorated it with only gold Xmas ornaments, shaping the ornaments like a very mod xmas tree. It was a sensation.
