Why don't Christians love?

Why do people that claim to be Christians not practice one of the most important things in the Bible and about God: love?

they go around accusing and attcaking, but only attacking the people, not telling them gently real knowledge, from the bible about God as to why they should surrender to God, why He's worth living for...instead they attack them and hope that's going to make them want to love God.

not.

completely opposite really. i mean, come on. the way you act is how you are portraying God to them. they can't know Him as intimately as you are claiming to. they see Him as His people portray Him.

and we don't even make Him attractive...

Surrender.  Surrender.  But don't give yourself away . . . .

   ~ Cheap Trick ~

I agree with you Sweetie.  That is why I avoid organized religion and just love God in my own way.  I live by a few very simple rules ~ Love as many people as you can.  Be loved by as many people as you can.  Help people whenever possible.  Be the best person you are capable of being.  That's it.  My God weeps over the amount of hate spewed by people in his name.  God doesn't hate.  God is love.  And God created everything for a reason ~ that we learn from it.

Take care, Honey, and just keep God close to your heart in your own way.  God understands your feelings for him.

15 thumbs up

Alyssa,

That's a very good question and it could be answered simply, or in a long winded way.   People who claim to be Christians and act much differently than the way Christ is are probably not practicing Christians.  One must take the world of God from the bible and study it and practice it daily.  Many do not really know or understand that God wants them to act in loving ways and revert back to their old ways often.  It is also a difficult world.  We are all faced with stress, opposition, greed, temptation daily, and innately we are sinners.  Like anything else the more we practice loving others and ourselves, the easier it will become natural.  The best you can do is to be a good Christian by setting the example for others by being a loving, caring, forgiving, and helpful person and show them the way.  When in doubt, always ask yourself, "Is this the way Jesus would do it?"  You can always ask that of others too.  Be forgiving as well, as it truly takes time to walk in the footsteps of God consistently.

,at the end of the day we are all human and we are all suffering from what is known as the human condition. thou shalt not kill? will u look at all the killings done in the name of god, hows that 4 hypocrisy? why do we even believe in god and the bible anyway? because we were taught to. if nobody tells us what to believe then we will find our own truth instead of being brainwashed with other peoples truths. there are many wolves out there in sheeps clothing whether they are christian, muslim, buddhist or otherwise. equally there are many good and loving people out there 2 whether they have a denomination or not. we are all guilty of being hypocrites in many ways because not one of us is perfect. all we can do is our best and try to learn from our mistakes. hope this helps u in someway. ,,Submit,
