They may not really be Christians. Ask them if they know God exists. If not, they aren't. A Christian KNOWS that God exists! There are churches out there that are full of folks who've never experienced spiritual re-birth. If they throw the Lord Jesus' name around, i.e. "Jesus said", but never refer to Him as Lord, they are either not Christians, or still spiritually immature. If the only "name" they know is "Christ", they are in the same boat. "Christ" means "the Anointed One"; it's His title, meaning the same thing as "Messiah", but is greek instead of hebrew.
Denominational religion creates a lot of judges, and brow-beaters. Don't condemn all of the multitude of good "loving" Christians because of the unbelieving and disobedient folks pushing their ideas. The "Gospel" is GOOD NEWS, Glad Tidings; what you are describing is not good or glad, so it isn't from God, or from the Lord Jesus the Christ.
