Hi,
Limit the amounts of fat food you eat and eat soluble fiber food (e.g: grain products for bread, pasta, tortillas, etc). Fiber supplement are recommended. Beans, vegetables, high fiber cereals this may lower the cholesterol up to 10%. Take supplements that contain OMEGA 3 and essential fatty acids (e.g: fish oil). Plant Sterols lower colesterol levels up to 20 %. 1-2 glasses (per day) of red wine (yes !), or one of the resveratrol supplemements (I saw great results in dsecreasing the level !). Nuts (1- 2 ounces per day) of almonds, pistachios, walnut or macadamia lowering the lipid levels. Certain mushrooms (I am not familiar with the English names, sorry) are doing miracles (in lowering the colesterol (consult at the "health store") !. Exercises are also very important to lower the colesterol.
Best regards,
P.S: I found it for you: "if you eat 2 raw shitaki mushrooms a day you can lower your colesterol drastically".
