Chinese girl not pretty enough?

I heard this little girl named Yang Peiyi sang in the Olympics, but the Chinese committee thought she wasn't pretty enough so another little girl stood in for her. Was this right?

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

No, it was not right. They should have had someone with the world's best voice sing for the pretty stand-in who should have lipped synced. Thank GOD I can go out and buy a Chinese tape recorder and a Chinese tape to record this travesty for posterior. Or is that posterity?

There is a verse from a Jackson Browne song that says,

Well, I guess I might have known from the start
She'd come for a star
Might have told my imagination not to run too far
Of all the times that I've been burned
By now you'd think I'd have learned
That it's who you look like
Not who you are

But I digress. Yes. What happened was very wrong. But, then again, Chairman Mayo does not share my opinions.

very interesting... that's not right at all!!!! it's terrible, who cares what they look like?! just be happy!!(don't worry, be happy, don't u love that song? i should put it on my ipod..) They should choose someone with the best voice to sing, whether or not they're pretty.
