Chimp Killed After Mauling

It's a very sad day for everyone. The lady that was injured and the chimp. Maybe we should think twice when treating wild animals as pets. I feel very sad for the chimp and the lady that is hurt. George~

Clearly, the poor animal was "not himself" and Lyme disease has been known to cause neurological problems. It must have been horrible for the owner to see not only her friend mauled but her beloved pet so brutally wounded before his death.

It's a shame the chimp had to be killed. It's too bad it couldn't have been tranquilized instead. But I'm sure the police responded correctly because of the nature of the attack. I am a die hard animal lover and I think we run the risk of animal attacks when we try to "tame" any wild animal.

On a different note, I am totally against the testing of research on animals!

I feel very bad for the woman who had to stab a "family member". That had to have been the hardest thing for her.

This woman is a mental case. It is her fault for causing this chimps surmise. This animal should have been put in an environment for primates not in a back room of a house. We are not talking about a cat, dog, bird. We are talking about a very large strong animal. This would never had happened had this woman used her brains(?) AND SOME COMMON SENSE

Poor thing, that is why they are wild animals....they can turn at any time.  This is just another reminder that we should not treat wild animals as pets and that people should let them stay in their environment.  That will never happen because of the good ole' dollar, but I feel really bad for the lady and the chimp.  The owner was probably devistated because she had to protect her friend, but had to stab her own pet, often becoming a part of the family....this is really sad.  Linda in California
