Those with children.

Investing is then seen and regarded as an additional form of insurance in the event that one or both parents pass away whie also planning for other life events (clothing, vacations, etc).

A couple where both partners work do not have the same concerns in continuing a standard of living for more than two human beings when one partner passes away.

Either one--if you choose not to have children, that money becomes your nest egg for retirement or an emergency fund.  If you do choose to have children, that money could become a college fund if started early enough.

I don't think it really matters. Every person should try and maximize his earnings from his/her current capital. You never know when you'll need the extra money.

I think both can make an investment, for the singles they are preparing for their future family, while those with children are a must, because that is the preparation for their child's support.  But in the two I must say that those with children must invest more, since they have their children and needed a support in their schooling.
