I really think it unnecessary to take him, it takes a while till a child understand the meaning of death. I think that a child should be at least 8-10 till its ok to take him to a funeral. try to explain him that god took his uncle because he was such a good man and also give him something from your uncle private stuff, for keeping and remembering.
