I believe you misunderstood. I do not like children's pageants in general, however I have seen contestant's who regard it as simply another fun activitiy in their young lives. I am for girls/women of age who decide to enter these events on their own, just as I would hope that a child's thoughts and desires are considered at an early age.
PS. I still would NOT make sweeping generalizations about a particularly activity, even though your participation may not have been a pleasant experience. Many people don't approve of everything the ACLU stands for either, yet their is room for discussion and differences of opinion. Have a pleasant tomorrow.

In Pageants, it is stopped about 30% I'd say of the time, the rest 'learn to like it to get their "Conditional Love", thus giving the Parent What THEY want, NOT what the CHILD wants. When this is done; You Bet! It is a Very Abusive Activity, when these children are DRESSED UP Like they are Twenty-Five; At FIVE years of age!
