Is Child-Abuse Prevalent in Child-Pageant Contestants, in many forms?

Are you mental? Keep your children out of all sports events including ice skating, gymnastics, bowling, whatever. It sounds like you choose to live in fear. Girls who enter these programs enter for the fun of it. I have never heard of a pedophile at a child beauty pageant, but I imagine since events are open to the public the pope could attend if he wanted.

One could also state that gymnastics is wrong for children too, because of the problems associated with some gymnists resorting to strict dieting, thereby causing eating disorders........... fact is most gymnasts don't have eating disorders and MOST very young pageant contestants are very grounded and look upon pageantry as just another activity.

Some children enjoy them, so I am not going to begrduge them getting up to perform. We do have child actors/actresses don't we? I take offense with ANY blanket condemnation of an activity with many families and children engage in, and for the most part is harmless fun. You can take any survey and skewer it to your advantage. I prefer to observe, and this is what I have observed. Most children who participate in pageants regard this as just one activity in their young lives. Don't make it more than it is.
