How long should wheel bearings last on a Chevy Astro van?
It depends on a lot of factors, When I worked up in the northern states, We just repacked them and the would last for a vary long time. When I worked in Las Vegas in that kind of heat, we had a lot more bearing related repairs. Nowadays they have the sealed bearings. Can't repack these suckers. They seem to go defective whenever they feel like it. However, if your going through a wheel bearing in say a year or less, then you most likely have another problem.
I gave Chuck a thumbs up on his answer. I agree with him but I think the most likely cause of early bearing failure is improper installation. If it goes bad again and its not under warranty, buy a quality part and not some cheap crap that some part stores will sell you and make sure it is installed properly.

I just had my two front bearings replaced on my 2003 Astro. These were the original with over 90k miles. Very expensive, over $800.00 for the two
