Were you ever totally disappointed by a cooking program, and some hot shot chef that turned out not to know the difference between tomatoes and ketchup?
I'm thinking about canceling the food netwrok channel.
Don't cancel.
It's one of the greatest channels available right now. And I don't even cook!
Completely! I am convinced that there are a few on there for rating purposes only. However, it seems like it is more about the entertainment anymore than the actual craft. I learned more from my Grandmother in the kitchen than from any network "chef." And another secret - many of the recipes are not theirs, and many of their tips are not new. I am from the south, and if you are worth your weight at all in the kitchen, you had better have a staple recipe for biscuits, mac and cheese, fried chicken and banana pudding - thanks, Grandma.

Life is short. Eat dessert first.
Unfortunately, it's all about ratings and less about the food. The station tries to find some hot foreign-looking chef-look-a-like. It doesn't seem to matter if he/she can really cook.
