My wife and I would like to catch a few shows on our trip to London, what is the best way to get cheap theatre tickets?
If the place is selling them on a a website, if you watch closely, they may have a presale for the tickets which is kind of like an early bird special, where they sell tickets a bit cheaper because you buy them very early on. :) goodluck.
The best tickets are from the cheap ticket booths that you have to go to on the day - there is a well known one in Leceister Square that I can recommend.
When I was there 10 years ago student discounts could cut the cost by 75%. And the random visitor could create a believable NUS student card with a scanner and printer. I never did that, but I heard it was done with some regularity. I was a student so it wasn't an issue for me, I got the discount legitimately.
