Can you combine cheap restaurant deals and healthy food or are we stuck with hot dogs, bacon & egg and burgers?
You can almost always find something healthy on fast food menus (it may not be the most appealing thing on the menu like burgers or fried chicken). Stick with food that is NOT fried and instead is baked. There is a possibility of being healthy without spending a million bucks. Stick with natural food (processed food is a problem). Veggies and fruits are two things you cant really go wrong with.
Yes, some of these chains offer healthy dinners, I know of at least one that Weight Watchers is involved with. You have to look at the menu, and remember proportion and moderation are big keys to staying healthy. You really can eat just about anything you want, as long as you don't do it everyday and you don't make a pig of yourself. Smaller meals are the way to go, eat slower, it helps to fill you up, last but not least, do some exercise, take a nice walk after you eat.
Unfortunately, most restaurants that do offer "Heart Smart" menu offerings do not take into account the sodium levels, or the levels of sodium sulfate, nitrates or other sulfites in their food ingredients.
All of these factors, in addition to trans fat, Sat fats and cholesterol levels are important things to monitor for those who've had heart surgery or heart problems. The sad fact of the matter is that most people's diet consists of much more than 5000 milligrams/daily of sodium, though the recommended maximum is no more than 2000 milligrams/daily.
Restaurants need to take these things into consideration when planning or updating their menus.
yes they all hav salads and you can get a grilled chicken and only one slice of the bun. they also have low fat salad dressings
subway has the best and most healthy delas for 5.00. if you add a lite snack (fruit or yogurt) you can stretch that footlong into 2 meals.
What about a side salad from Wendy's or the grilled chicken, no mayo... You can make healthIER choices than the quarter pound double stack. And whose to say you have to get pop, you can always get iced tea ( no sugar) or water. Baked potato is pretty healthy without all the 'good' stuff.
There are many websites that ask you questions about your eating habits and your body type. When they figure out your body type and habits, They will then come up with a diet that is right for your body type. I can eat chicken, fish, brown rice, veggies and potatoes. It depends on your diet but there are many foods in restaurants that are considered diet and healthy foods for many people. Unfortunately, there are others that are stuck with rabbit foods. Find the right foods for your personal diets. I am sure you can find something at a restaurant that is right for you. Another thing to keep in mind is it is about the amount you eat and how many times you eat in a day, not too much about what you eat. Everyone is different. I hope this helps
