In my day job I write about Blood Pressure Treatment and treat those who suffer from blood pressure problems. Low blood pressure is a particular interest and I'm often asked about how to lower cholesterol levels. A healthy heart is becoming a huge focus for many of us nowadays. Improving your blood pressure control and thus the health of your heart and circulation system is really important. My most recent online "adventure" is to start a facility for people to ask me my opinion and to provide high quality health information by answering medical questions online.

I also have a special interest in the problem of feeling Tired All the Time and in those who suffer from chronic fatigue or lethargy. This seems to tie in also to skin care issues or skin treatment problems and suggestions. Tiredness and fatigue can lead to major problems for many individuals in modern society and the way that this can affect all areas of general health can be quite invasive in terms of daily life and coping skills.

My work with footballers and athletes leads to a focus on Painful Shoulder conditions and on the problems associated with frozen shoulder or whiplash injuryRotator cuff injury causes problems for many of my patients.

When not working I daydream about my next amazing european vacation trip  My favorite European cities include Paris and Barcelona and my next blog project will be to write about the best way to spend a night in Paris and how to find an apartment in Barcelona. I just love European travel in all its forms.

Cheap Flights - Are they worth it?

Is cheap air travel really a bargain? Are cheap flights worth the hassle of poorer service, inconvenient flight times, out of the way airports, irregular schedules and so on?

Wouldn't we all be better just sticking to regular flights rather than forever chasing that elusive great value deal?

Although I have no experience with cheap flights in Europe, I had some great experience with low fare carriers in Asia. I flew several times with Air Asia and they where great! I paid less than a third of what I would have paid if I chose regular company and everything worked out fine- the crew was lovely, food prices aboard were reasonable and there were no delays, on two occasions we arrived 10 minutes before scheduled time.

Thanks Zhen

My only real experience is in Europe and to be honest I have mixedfeelings about it. Certainly the service is good but - to take "London" to "Paris" with Ryanair for example:

You need to spend money and several hours of time travelling from the centre of London to the departure airport. You are then flown to "Paris" which in reality is Beauvais - a town about a hundred miles from Paris. That means another bus journey which has to be paid for in addition to the flight. Adding to that the new no bags in the hold unless you pay for them rule and I'm not sure the deal really stacks up all that well.

I think you just answered yourself. As the saying goes "There are no free meals" (except in Asia). From an experienced point of view I do think it is always good to look for alternatives . You need to put some work in to it and figure out where you're landing, timetables etc. When I travel alone I don't really mind the effort. When I am with someone I do mind. I think it is important to maintain such a flight market and to supply other companies with some costumers so that the big companies won't take over the market of flights.

It's a question of resources. It's less convenient and the service is limited, but if you're short on funds, it's a good way to travel.

My single experience was RyanAir from London Stansted to Ancona Italy. I was satisfied with the flight as I was looking for a cheap flight , to a location near Ancona, and I got a return flight for less than 100$. No extras obviously - you pay for food ( if you want it), for luggage, for being first to board etc. the flight back was canceled because of local air traffic and I was offered an alternative but needed to arrange my own transportation to the alternative site.

London Heathrow, used by regular carriers, is about as accessible as Stansted or Gatwick, so this should not affect the decision. If you want to save money and need to reach a location that is better accessed by low-cost carier- do not hesitate.
