If a person has cheated on you, then I don't think 2nd chances should be given.  Clearly, the person has a problem with being faithful to you.  This doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with you.  It just means that the two of you are not able to have a healthy relationship.  If the person has cheated in their past, however, I think that it is possible for that person to fall in love, and to learn from their past mistakes.

A healthy relationship starts with trust and honesty and a big warm genuine smile.

I agree with Zuzak. While you may feel inclined to give second changes to a former cheating partner, it is not advisable. Not just because he/she may cheat again but because you deserve better than that. You deserve a person who is already put together well enough to see that you are a great human being and deserve only the best. If you begin dating someone who told you in the past he/she has cheated, it's always interesting to ask him/her what they learned from the situation. If his/her answer revolves around not getting caught next time (even if said jokingly-because there is always some truths to jokes), he/she is NOT a keeper. But if the answer revolves around having learned a lesson, it's possible that he/she did learn something, has matured from the situation and is ready to behave in a more mature manner and is worth giving a chance.

RE: CHEATER

Dear Dasema,

If some one cheats on you they don't deserve you or your devotion.  Once a cheater always a cheater.  Yes a person can fall in love and change for awhile. I was married to a man who cheated on his first wife through out their 15 year marriage, I told my self that we would be different, and we were.  We were married for 28 years.  After 25 years, he found some one on the internet, he spent a large sum of our retirement funds to impress this woman. It took me almost 3 years to figure out that some thing was just not right.  The missing money, the long hours on the computer, looking gulity when I walked in to the computer room when he was on line.  The sudden trips "home" to see his brother or parents, I could go on and on.  I think you get the idea.  He always told me we were different, we were forever, and that having my trust was the most important thing in the world to him.  Mamnagomy is difficult in the most sincere relationships, remember the true and beautiful moments of your relationship and move on, move out and move up to the next great love of your life.    Best wishes  Bandaid

People do cheat even if they are in  a real love relationship. I don't think there is some kid of a  cure, though I do believe  that certain people do have the ability to change  and sometimes  cheating once is enough for  them.

Everyone can make a mistake......I think that most folks are sorry and want to make amends, however there are those who are so emotionally needy they continue to make the same mistakes.

I think that if he has cheated once, he will do it again.  Real love CAN change people, however, for the cheater, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
