Before, when I was writing an email I could change the font and use bold type. Now I can't.
Why has this changed?
This hasn't changed. You don't have the rich text editor enabled. When composing text and you don't have the rich text editor enabled, simply click on the link "enable rich text editor" which should appear in the upper right corner of the compose window. You can also go into "Settings" (the link next to the help link), go to "compose" there and enable the editor there.

I’m having the same problem. I opened the compose window and there is no option to “enable rich text editor”. NOTE: I am using Safari to access AOL.com.

Be sure to use at least Safari 3.0. Rich Text is not supported for Safari 2.0 and lower.
how do you set default font and size. I have to keep changing it to what I want with each and every email?
Hi. I have the same question. For example, I would like a certain color , size, etc to come up everytime I would like to compose emails and I find myself having to change the fonts EVERYTIME! I am looking for a link or button to click on to keep the same settings as I had before. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have checked every settings page and FAQ's and I can't find it. Please help!
I use Internet Explorer 7 and have the same problem. I have enabled the Rich Text but it doesn't help. It still goes back to the default black Ariel, size 10.
I'm having the same problem. I use Internet Explorer 7. I have enabled the rich text editor but it doesn't change anything. Each time I write an email, it goes back to the default black Ariel 10.
I control left click over the header and a customize toolbar menu comes up that allows me to add a font menu to the header.
