I am not a Socialist, but here is a theory I put forth. The government is like the parent and the American people are like a 3 year old. We had this cool toy (the economy) and we kept abusing it, destroying it, breaking it, and actually causing harm to ourselves and other around us. The government, like a concerned parent, is going to take away some of our toys until we prove we are adult enough to play with them.
We, the American people are the spoiled third grader who has run up credit card debt, put ourselves into car payments and house payments we can't afford to the point where the combined wealth of the world can no longer make that loan. We have exploited capitalism in the health care field to the point where people can't actually afford to buy it any more. I think we should lose some of our toys until we start acting like adults with responsibility.
Until then the geniuses behind the DMV are going to handling your healthcare. We get the government we deserve.
