I'm thinking about installing central air, but is it worth it? Does it really save that much more on my energy bills? I'm using central A/C right now.

I think it all depends on the energy efficiency of your home. If you have a newer home that was built to be efficient then yes it could but my parents house is considered to be pretty efficient and they have central air and heat and they put in window unit because the central was still using to much energy but the window unit only saves them about $20 a month. Just when you leave bump up you thermostat and run fanes during the hottest part of the day that is what we do.
