Celebrities and Ourselves.

If the celebrities have the money to lose the weight and we don't how can we stay so thin and live our lives like normal innocent people?

Normal, innocent are not all thin and beautiful and rich. Normal people are made up of many different shapes, sizes, colors... Just because celebrities have a lot of money, and are able to lose weight easily, does not mean that they are living the lives of normal, innocent people. On the contrary actually, their lives are usually very highly publicied and on display, with every move they make, documented for the world to see and critique.

Obesity is a problem in America because food is a huge part of our culture and we've been trained to overeat. It's such a problem that even the very sensible suggestion to "only eat when you're hungry" doesn't work for some people because we're so used to eating too much that we get hungry even when we don't really need food. Our bodies have been trained to *think* we need more calories than we really do. I have lost 45 pounds because I've learned to tolerate being a little hungry sometimes. Sugarless gum helps a lot, as does reminding myself that being a little hungry means I'm losing weight!  And yes, my diet plan was recommended by a doctor. Weight loss is a matter of simple mathematics. Calories in must be less than calories spent.  The good news is that after a few months of eating less your body does get used to having less food and your appetite subsides somewhat. As for money, although fresh produce is expensive these days that cost can be offset by eating less of other foods, especially meat, which is VERY expensive. Speaking of meat, did you know that one serving of steak is no bigger than a deck of cards? If you eat more than that, you are overeating (and wasting money, too!)

Exercise is important, too. Of course, that's a lot easier when you have a personal trainer or gym membership but you can still exercise outdoors or at home if those are your only options. There are short yoga videos on YouTube you can watch for free. You need aerobics to lose weight, but yoga helps stretch out your muscles to prevent injuries AND I've found that it increases your motivation to do something aerobic because you feel less stiff and tired. And it's easier to motivate yourself to exercise vigorously when you're already moving around a little (as opposed to jumping right from sitting around to aerobics - yoga provides a good middle ground so you can more easily make the transition from resting to aerobics. Many times I said to myself, I don't feel like exercising, but after some yoga I felt differently.) I'm sure there must be some aerobics videos on youtube as well, or you can walk/jog outside if the weather permits.

I totally agree with Diagoras, there is a lot that many of us can do to lose weight but it's about the will power that you actually have and if u are really deteremined and want to make that change for yourself. Excercising is one of the most important things when it comes to losing weight and the internet is a booming source of information with excercises that you can even do in your own home. They even have specific excercises listed for problem areas so you don't even need a personal trainer to tell you what to do, a personal trainer might help motivate you to actually lose weight by pushing you harder but maybe you can find a friend who wants to help you or go along with you on your journey if not sometimes you just have to put your foot down and realize that you are number one and have your best interest in heart do it for yourself. As far as the food goes I know that I have heard it's not what you eat it's how much you eat. When I hear this I don't think that O I can eat Mc Donalds every day only in smaller portions because we all know those foods are what has caused America to become obeste, but what we must realize is that we can not completely eliminate certain foods that we love from our diet just eat it in moderation once a week or every two weeks a lot of diets fail because people just start to crave things that they miss eating. Portion size is a big problem too a lot of people do not read the labels of the things that they eat. A lot of those bag of chips and other snacks which will say 300 calories on the back are actually meant to be eaten in two servings. That means that that entire bag of chips that you are eating or that snack cake in all actuality is 600 calories. I think it's messed up that these food manufacturing companies do that because they know that a lot of people aren't even going to take the time to notice things like that. When it comes down to it you can do it. You have to believe in yourself that it can be done and do it for you, Not for anyone else because it is all about you.

Eating lots of vegetables and good fiber is one way I stay thin :)

My life is in the spotlight and I'll have to say that there is much more than money neccessary to stay thin. It's a lot of work, dedication and good habits. Yes, many in the industry have more money to spend on good trainers and can spend money on surgery. Trust me, surgery is no option to really looking thin and in shape.

I use simple tools i can bring on the road like a swiss ball, dumbells and a pullup bar i can wedge in a door. Total cost.....about $150. The rest is up to me.

And by the way, i consider myself "normal," and somewhat innocent.

All you have to do is eat a lot of candy bars, chips, potatoes, steak and cheese subs. and a lot of soda.  You'll lose weight that way no question.  Oh, and don't go to the gym, ever.

If your job depended on how good you look you would take the initiative to watch what you eat and exercise intensly all the time. Unfortunately most jobs don't require you to look perfect all the time. So we don't. Okay well whatever. -Exercise is super important and it's free. A one hour walk daily costs nothing but time. Most people spend more time than that watching tv or surfing the web a day. -Water and lots of it. Okay drink water instead of soda. Hello that's also free. It will save you money drinking from the tap. All natural water. -Low calorie foods are out there and they are inexpensive. The thing is celebrities don't go through the drive thru after work and pick up a number 1 value sized with a coke. They eat steamed fish/chicken/veggies, egg whites, oatmeal, fruit. Which is inexpensive compared to the $7 spent at the drive thru window.

I ALSO HAVE TO ADD! DIETS DO NOT WORK!  THEY MAY WORK FOR A LITTLE WHILE YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR MIND FRAME.  YOU CAN'T TELL YOURSELF "I'M GOING TO FOLLOW SOUTH BEACH OR WHATEVER" AND THEN AFTER YOU LOSE SOME WEIGHT GO BACK TO YOUR REGULAR ROUTINE. 

I KNOW ALL THIS BECAUSE I USED TO WEIGH 270LBS.  IT'S BEEN TWO YEARS AND I HAVE LOST 98 LBS..SLOWLY FROM RUNNING 5 MILES 4X A WEEK AND EATING LOW CALORIE NUTRITIOUS FOODS.

they dont lose the weight the doctors know exaclty where that weight went.
