(Hi Hayley, remember, you must confirm your Yedda subscription in the mail Yedda sends you or they cancel your account, nasty - I know, they don't make it very clear either.... )

The causes of Candida Albicans :

Candida Albicans is the cause of both male and female yeast infections. It is in fact present in our bodies throughout our lives but kept under control by the bodies natural defenses.

Our body's natural defenses are:

1) our skin,
2) white blood cells and antibodies,
3) helper (friendly) bacteria that live on and inside us,
4) and very important - our immune system.

When one of these natural defenses weakens or breaks down we are at risk of contracting infections.

I have listed some substances that can aggravate and weaken our bodies natural defenses , and these substances are therefore also root causes of Candida:

  1. Antibiotics are one of the main causes of Candida infections. They destroy the friendly bacteria in our bodies.

  2. Allergies to certain food, environmental conditions (pollution) and/or can weaken the immune system and render one more susceptible to yeast  infections.
  3. Diabetes can weaken the immune system.
  4. Unhealthy diet . An excessive sugar intake feeds the yeast cells.
  5. Intercourse with someone who has a yeast infection
  6. Birth control pills contain estrogen that helps the growth of yeast
  7. Alcohol & Drugs is also one of the main causes of candida. It destroys friendly bacteria and beer contains maltose, a sugar that feeds yeast cells.
  8. Hygiene Products like deodorants, perfumes, soaps and shampoos can all contain chemicals that kill friendly bacteria.
  9. Being over stressed releases Cortisol, a hormone that weakens our immune system and raises our blood sugar level.
  10. Tap Water with chlorine destroys friendly intestinal bacteria.

The good news (finally) - there are natural alternatives to prescribed medicines, and these often work a lot better in treating yeast infections. They fight the route causes of Candida, not just the symptoms - reocurring yeast infections are unfortunately quite frequent

For a permanent, very quick (12 hours) and effective cure for candida I suggest you visit treating yeast infections naturally . They have fantastic advice on how to treat Candida infections safely, quickly, and most importantly - permanently.

All the best and I hope that my advice on the causes of Candida infections comes in handy.

I was diagnosed with a yeast infection last December and i used Monostat which  cured the candida, but as my periods came, the infection kept coming back.

I realized Monostat doesn't permanently cure yeast infections. I also have a red, itchy, burning clitoris and sometimes i have the white discharge that accompanies a yeast infection.

I am totally clueless. anyone have suggestions?

Apply the monistat treatment inside, it should be fine.D o it at night so you don't have to worry about it. It will still itch for 2 or 3 more days, but should go away. Don't have sex, use tampons, or douche until you are better!

Yogurt works well, put some on & eat some as well. Watered down vinger can help the stinging & itching. But you may need to buy the cream if it doesn't improve with that.
A lot of things cause it nylon undies do it to me every time.
