Cat lovers: what do you think about dogs licking you?

I played with a dog I saw on the street yesterday, he licked my hand and the friend I was with, who loves cats, said it was disgusting because dogs' tongues are too soft, smooth and thin, as opposed to cats' tongues which feel much nicer. Later we met her sister and she said the exact same things.

Do all cat lovers feel like that?

As a cat owner I would say that it does feel nicer I guess since the cat's

tongue is scratchy because it's filled with papillae - tiny backwards hooks that help to hold prey in place.

Stretch yourself into healthy living, recycle for life!

Live kind

Personal preference, considering I don't much care for cats as pets. Cats tongue feels like sandpaper and who wants to be rubbed by sandpaper?Tongue out -hygieia

3 thumbs up

I love both cats and dogs, but a dog's tongue feels nicer to me because of the sandpaper-y feel of a cat's tongue. Still, I love being licked (or "kissed") by either because I know it's usually a sign of affection.

I have both and really don’t care. I don’t see the difference but yet there is one. To be honest a cat’s tongue really feels like a piece of sandpaper. It’s coarse then a dogs tongue and not as wet.
