Are raw carrot's bad for dogs? They really seem to like them as a treat.
Yep their just fine. of course everything in moderation too. dogs eat most of the vegetables humans can eat cept for onion, garlic, green parts of tomato plants, potato peelings, raisins, grapes, rhubarb leaves, broccoli and pips .. i've heard avacodos arent so cool either. though i did feed our 2 dogs and cat a dog and cat chewable vitamin that had brewers yeast in it and a small percentage of garlic, sure did make their coats shiny! was the brewers yeast. our terrier absolutely loves his carrots and its been quite a few years. their also used in natural veterinarian recommended diets
they can have the carrots they so love :]
heck, i luv 'Em too!
No I do not think so. But grapes and onions are
My 2 dogs have been getting baby carrots as treats for years. I have heard that these are recommended by vets. No calories. Better than giving biscuits. I also use mixed canned vegetables in my dogs food instead of canned dog food. My one overweight dog has lost weight because of the lesser calories.
Thanks. I knew about grapes but I dont think you could get a dog to eat an onion if you tried. I know Chocolate is very bad also.
Thanks Pooch. Thats what I thought but I had to ask someones opinion. I didnt want to do anything to harm them.
Yh they should be fynn!lol All my dogs eat them, and apples!:P dunno y?
It is told by dog nutritionists that if you feed carrots to dogs, purchase certified organic carrots.
The reason for this is that carrots being roots, absorb everything from the ground around them...including harmful chemicals. Farmers will plant carrots in between different crops to clean out the soil...then sell the carrots for consumption. So we and our animals are eating whatever the carrots have absorbed through the ground. Carrots and Beets, or any root that are fed to dogs needs to be organic...unless you don't mind feeding chemicals like pesticides to your dog.
Carrots are fine for dogs, as are other veggies. I.e., green beans, broccoli. Not to worry if you little guy or gal enjoys carrots. They're good for dogs.
My vet recommends carrots instead of biscuits, less fattening.
My sister's son's helper dog is not permitted to eat anything fattening and they also recommended carrots. The helper dogs are very costly to train and there is a list of instructions that come with them. If the owner does not follow their regimens they risk having to give them back. Carrots are definitely OK.
