Cardio?

I'm only 45 but have had severe arthritis in my knee since I was 34.And knee pain in general since I was 26.  I can't walk enough to get a cardio workout...I dont have access to a pool. How can I get a cardio workout?  I'm really starting to get out of shape.

How about riding a bicycle. You can do this indoors and this keeps the stress off the knees. I don't think a stationary bicycle should be that expensive.

It's great you're making an effort to do some exercise.

Hi,

I think the simple answer is to use weights and rubber band resistance to work on all the muscle groups you can in ways that do not cause you knee pains and added problems. There are also a lot of gymnastic exercises (like push-ups) that you can do without any equipment at all. If you have no experience with training or training programs, you may want to find a professional coach to design a program for you.

For your knee problem I am not promising anything, but I know of many people that have had amazing results from drinking alkaline water. You can find all the necessary free information by Clicking Here

5 thumbs up

Only your heart says your brave~peace and love

The couple answers I read are quite helpful.  Any movement you can do that does not effect your knees.  Upper body weights at a consistent pace.  Outdoor activities, raking, gardening, etc.  In addition, sexual intercourse several times per week can be a very good cardiovascular work out!
