Car overheating and the heater is blowing cold air

My car is over heating and only blows hot air from the heater when I'm driving. Sitting still it blows cold air. It's a Pontiac Grand-Am GT 2002.

Sounds like you're low on water/anti-freeze. Are you leaking anti-freeze? Any on the ground after it's been parked? If not, you may have a blown head gasket. Have someone follow you while you're driving at 60 or 65 mph and have them look to see if you're blowing water out of the exhaust pipe. If you are, then you have a blown head gasket.
