There are a number of ways of finding out if your thermostat is going bad. One of the easiest is to watch your temperature gauge. If when you first start the car the gauge registers hotter than normal and all of a sudden drops down to normal or below and the process repeats, good chance your thermostat is sticking. Another is if the car never gets warm, means it's stuck open. If the car runs real hot and doesn't cool back down while driving, the thermostat could be stuck closed. Another way is to run the car to normal operating temperature and then check the radiator hoses. If one is hot and the other fairly cold, good chance your thermostat is bad. Ron
