How about a Toyota Prius? I think it fits your demands nicely. I'm assuming you're not going to keep it for more than 8 years, though, because replacing its batteries is expensive, but they have 8 years warranty.
Take a look at a Toyota Camry 2007 if you want reliability, safety, and luxury for a great price. For about $30K you can get it equipped with everything.
