Yes, when i was 10 years old, am now 70, but relive it frequently..My mother was driving..Hit a soft shoulder..Flipped several times and she was killed..My sister, a friend and i escaped with hardly a scratch..No seat belts then..She was thrown out of the car.  To this day, i cannot ride in a car without being very nervous..My sister is the same way..

If you put most people cell phone up there a--, it would be closer to there ear.

I find the list of the mostly deadly states untrue they are the least populated unless people in Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota speed incessantly. My husband and I travel to these states all the time and we are lucky if we see a person on the road at all since it is so isolated out there.  The speed limit is at least 65 mph. However in Maryland, where we are from, there are always fatal accidents. The Northeast is much more crowded and people do not use public transporation as a rule.

This goes to show that statistics are total bullsh*t. California The least likely to be a deadly driving state, Give me a break! I live here, and I can tell you from all of the sights that I've seen, That this is a total crock of crap on a platter. Someone needs a serious brush up course on their facts because it just isn't right! This is why people think it is okay to fly!

No, Never been in an accident.

I absolutely agree with you. Montana, I believe doesn't even have a speed limit!

My son, mother and I were in Ft. Myers in 1987 on vacation. We left at 5:30 in the morning for Disney World. 15 minutes from where we were staying we were hit by a DRUNK DRIVER. The crash killed my son who was only 26 and my mother and I had to stay in the hospital for week and had to be flown home back to Maine in a small plane with a parmedic on board. OF course the DRUNK DRIVER who only had a license for going and coming home to work got OFF. He was 3 times over the limit. In Florida where I now live if someone is in jail and they are not brought back to trial within 175 days they walk. YES, I am always afraid in a car especially now that I live in Florida and how fowled up there system is.By the way the Judge had taken his license away but he was allowed to drive back and forth to work. HE WAS A BAR TENDER and he is still out there somewhere so be careful in Florida

Meeting on Openness Closed to Public

It's hardly the image of transparency the Obama administration wants to project: A workshop on government openness is closed to the public. The event Monday for federal employees is a fitting symbol of President Barack Obama's uneven record so far on the Freedom of Information Act, a big part of keeping his campaign promise to make his administration the most transparent ever. As Obama's first year in office ends, the government's actions when the public and press seek information are not yet matching up with the president's words.
