We all know this problem for quite a while:
You try to capture a screenshot from a wmv/avi/mov running file using print-scr, but each time you get a blank image of the video player.
So how can you take still image caps from a video file, running online or offline?

My 2 cents:
With recent versions of WMP (12) branded for URGE, the trick doesn’t work for DVD’s, even if you disable all accelerations on both WM options and in control panel. So I had to use PowerDVD, and disable the hardware acceleration on its settings menu - and it worked.

Nice links...these proggies however help to capture screen activity into a video file. The original issue was how to make screenshots off a video file playing in a media player - something that can be done only if you change the settings, as explained in the help link above.
