Dear Landscape Newbie,

Of course that lens is a great lens, but what do you have already? I would rather you save some money and just stitch some scenes together when you really need that wide look. When I do most of my landscapes, they seem to be in the 20-24mm range. It really depends on how you see and how the final print will be. If you see wide, then even the 16-35 may not be wide enough. Look at the stitching capabilities of PhotoShop and other after market software programs and save your bucks for other investments in your profession.

I have the previous version of this lens and use it on my EOS 5D.  It's one of my favorite lenses.  I hear the new version is even better.
