Cancer treatments

What are the most promising treatments for cancer?  (I'm interested in treatment for any kind of cancer.  I recognize that one regimen might be appropriate for, say, lung cancer, while another would be targeted at breast cancer.)

I am only familiar with two main types of treatment: chemotherapy which consists of a cocktail of specific medications determined by the attending oncologist according to the cancer and radiation therapy which consists of radiating the tumor. One branch of this is brachyotherapy where slow acting isotope are placed around the tumor for a slow acting attack on the tumor with less side effects.

This might sound surprising but lately I read a lot about honey . Off course it is still under research but here are some good articles on the issue.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4063377.stm

also here is Israel they started producing a special honey which helps deal with the Chemotherapy. It is called Dr. Bee and people say it works.

I couldn't find any info in English sorry.

There seems to no one good answer and this is a moving target I think  everyone basically needs a custom treatment plan designed to match their genetic makup. After hearing countless stories good and bad about experiences of others, several in my own family it seems some baisc factors come into play to make treatment successful. Degree of fitness is a big one, if you are in bad physical shape your chances for success may not be as good or effective. Diet is also a major factor but difficult to sustain while treatments are in progress as you don't want to eat because of the adverse side effects let alone properly. If you were ahard partier in your youth and are approaching middle age and are stricken with cancer this is when it will come back to haunt you. But in the end it may all be in the genes, some of us have good ones and some do not so we may all be pre-destined by virtue of our genetic make-up.
