Closing California State Parks

Desperate times call for desperate measures -- but are closing most of California's state parks a necessary evil, or going too far? Share your thoughts.

Such a sad thing.  It depresses me to even think about it.  I don’t have the answer for the budget crisis, but it seems everything I care about is now at risk.  Apparently it’s more important to have a society with nothing worthwhile do like go to the library or a state park, than it is to raise taxes.

I just heard that California is considering billions of dollars for yoga, aroma therapy, and all sorts of far out items for their prison system which already pays $14,000(according to the report) per prisoner each year.  When they call this the land of fruits and nuts, I can't disagree.  We lived there 19 years and would never move back.  No, closing parks is not the way to go.  Get rid of the politicians.  Quit paying the illegals!

Governor is going to far.....Should consider an alternative such as closing parks for a few days per week....This would save while still giving folks an opportunity to enjoy

the CA State Park System.

This is a question of dollars & common sense - The state park system generates revenues through tourism.  This means people travel to California and spend money in the state on gas, food & lodging, among other secondary & miscelleneous expenditures.  Why would you get rid of a revenue generating source in favor of non-revenue generating source such as education & civil authorities???  This is insane & irresponsible fiduciary suicide!!!

if the state of california had not acted against OneGodMinistries it would be better for all. the fear of the loss of revenue from glamorizing ghetto life influenced hollywood to steal from me, and the terminator is terminating! it is not going too far when california is in that deep of spiritual and financial troubles.

This is horrible!  There has got to be a better solution we can come up with, how about using some of the land for solar power production? Where are the great minds?

The Governator should put down his Conan sized sickle and slash the greedy salaries of the highest 10% like a good Californian!
