When I turn my hot water on in my daughter bathroom I hear a loud knocking in the attic. If I turn the cold side on in that same bathroom sink it stops completely. This is only happening in that bathroom and only in the sink. My house was replumbed 5 years ago with CPVC and has been doing it since the re-plumb,
If I am up early, I am going to get more than just your worms.
Check and make sure the pipes in the attic are properly secured. Otherwise, you will need to install a water hammer arrestor.
If they drilled through the cieling joists they may have made the holes too tight. Thermal expansion and contraction can change the outer diameter of cpvc and the it can make that noise.
