To stay alive you need to learn every day - you never know

Difficult question to answer - do you play already guitar or is this your first guitar. Personaly I prefer the Fender Stratocaster (the American model - no imitation) as it produces a clear sound and with the right strings a pleasure.

But this is not the cheapest option. If you start it is better to buy a reasonable guitar that is not too tough to play and then see what's next.

Regarding amps - I started with a 100 W Marshall which I liked a lot but my neighbours not - Also here you have to trust your ears, when you go to a guitar shop listen yourself or let someone play on your guitar and amp of choice.

By comparing several you will be able to decide as it is a personal issue

AMPS are a tough question-you need to make some decisions as to what you expect it to do for you before you can decide which to buy--generally speaking I hear and have seen really nice things about the VOX amps.

I'd suggest a Fender Standard (Mexican) Strat and a Marshall combo amp if you're into rock. If you're more of bluesy player then a Vox like gute said, or a Fender amp would be good.
