Business Administration degrees... when to get MBA?

I have a BA in Business Administration and I am wondering if it's worth it for me to go to graduate school, to get my MBA?  I'm just not sure what the difference is in pay.  Should I work for a while before I go to graduate school?  Should I wait for a company I'm working for to pay for my second degree?  How do I know what to do?  I'd really appreciate any advice.  Thanks.

Hi,

There are many ways to address this question. First of all it depends on the country you plan to work in, since the in different countries MBA's can mean different salaries, status and other important things.

In general there is no right or wrong answer. I would start to work a bit in order to get the lay of the land and after gaining some experience I would think of what I'd like to do. You'll simply have better tools to make the right decision for you. Eventually, if you want to go back to school you'll have the opportunity to do so.

Good luck.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

Reading your question makes me sure that you already decided to go for it (MBA).....  so the question is not if to do it but when to do it.   Sure it's better if your employer will send you.  That's ideal !.  If your employer is willing to "invest" in you it's a sign you are worth it and he wants to build long term relations.  That will be easier (financially) and on top of it will be more comfortable (he will pave the way for you and help you / be considerative 2u) and guarantee the present job 4U...... Ideal conditions..... Go for it... I did an MBA (after 3 other degrees in science / engineering) and it truely opened my eyes !.
Best regards,

I agree with both of them.. but you got to decide on your own afterall.. ofcourse mba gives you a great jump in terms of pay pakage though ;)

There are similar discussions carried out at www.managementparadise.com , search around there in the general talks section if you feel like.

You should also consider Business Degrees Online they can help you assess if it's right for you and especially consider the time factors.

I advice, you must work in your country no any other. If you like to go back to school then it’s up to you but if you job and work together it will be nice for you. I like you post very much and want to write more comment on your other posts but I am busy in exam 640-801 CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate). Thank you

I would say get your business degree as soon as possible.  It always pays to have a higher degree.  If you were to loose you job it will help you and your current company might even give you a raise.  I would say go for.  If your interested Adelphi University has a really good 42 credit program that should put you ahead of all the competition.
