Should Bush be tried for war crimes?

Should Bush be tried for War crimes and genocide when he leaves office looking at the number of people that have lost their lives as a result of the USA invading Iraq. Does the removal of Saddam Hussein and the so called Introduction of Democracy justify the killing of so may people. How is Bush different from Charles Taylor, Paul Kagame, Jonas Savimbi, Hitler and Stalin among many other tyrants.

Hi Yancha,

Hi dogbreeder,

Yes he did commit war crimes. What do you call innocent children, women and men dying because of one nation greed for oil. One doesn't need to go to University to read between the lines and understand the fact that the Iraqi war is about oil and America having control over it. Ask General Powell why he resigned from the Bush administration. If indeed the war was about weapons of mass destruction then Saddam should not have been the only dictator to be overthrown, what about the government in Iran, what about China developing nuclear technology, what about north Korea? It made more economic sense for Bush to start a war in Iraq because of oil. So when you deeply analyse the issue Bush is no different from Stalin and Hitler who used other to commit mass murders and justified it, or from Characters like Idi Amin and Paul Kagame who killed many in their countriies in the pretex of protecting them from this or that dictator. Bush is responsible for the killing of many Iraqis and many more are still dying this very minute because of bombs and guns, the question still stands should he go scot free or should he stand trial? Is he more human than other Presidents who have murdered people and believed at the time they were doing it it was in the interest of the people?

If you want to make peace you don't talk to your friends, you talk to your enemies. - Moshe Dayan

I don't think Bush is gulity of war crimes. While I do think there have been some questionable things done in the wars currently going on, I think everything up until now is the result of the terrorists' actions of September 11. I find it hard to believe that American troops, who have grown up valuing the freedom this country gives to them, are the ones who are killing innocent women and children which you refer to in a previous response. The blame needs to be properly put on the terrorists who are currently terrorizing local populations and continuing to fight American troops.

yancha...do your homework. you bitch about "innocent" iraqi citizens dying...the united states is at WAR. do you honestly think there could possibly be a zero body count? what about our "innocent" men and women who have died while fighting for operation iraqi freedom..which is something the soldiers believe in.

all so you can have your freedom of speech in order to voice your liberal opinions.

If the Pen is Mightier than the Sword.... How Lethal is an E-Mail ?

In Reality he should be tried for war crimes. The trouble with the U.S. is they dont totally trust their Army so therefore they "Press the UN for a total Exemption from the War Crimes Court" (THAT IS A FACT...LOOK IT UP!) every year! SO In Reality He cannot be charged.

The French i believe should be offered an apology for all the crap they took for not agreeing to attack Iraq.. A lot of French Businesses in the U.S. suffered because of this Decision.

Bullying other countries, "If You are Not With Us, You are Against Us!"

Attacking Iraq without the backing of NATO!

Resorting to KGB tactics, Bugging Americans Phones. Being taken away and Questioned for Speaking out loud against the war = Being anti-American, which spelled the destruction of your Rights as American Citizens.

Saddam Hussein seems Nothing compared to Bush. Nobody cared that Saddam Hussein was a Tyrant to his own people when they were selling him U.S. made Military Hardware.

Well, emphatically No, He can't be tried for anything because he hasn't violated any laws. There are those who say he violated the Geneva Convention laws. Both countries fighting have to reconise the Geneva convention laws for this to apply.

We are not fighting against any particular country if you think about it, we are fighting against ideals. Islamic Fascism is not a country.  Flying 2 jetliners into 2 buildings is not a country. Get it, Got it , Good! How does a country and it's President protect it's citizens against a enemy that has total disregard for the Geneva convention and recognizes Democracy as evil. I guess there are many of you out there that think it's ok for the Islamic Fasciast to capture soldures, reporters and Civialians and cut their heads of in front of America on national T.V. Is that in the Geneva Convention? Open your eye's America! Don't fall into Feel good politics. This question should never have been asked.
