Greetings!  It sounds that since you were temporarily blinded, it could be several things.  First of all, what is going on in your life that has caused you not to see the situation from all angles.  In other words, you may be blinded by your own perceptions. 

Having said that, my first reaction to your experience is that these people probably passed over rather violently at this particular spot.  They are attached to it for whatever reason.  I would bring gifts of sage and sweet grass and smudge the area. 

Even though spirits are talking in their native tongue, which is an identifying feature of what tribe or nationality they may have been in real life, many times speaking in English or your native tongue can bring understanding because metaphysically the communication transcends normal communication patterns.  I know this sounds bizarre, but there is some sort of mechanism present that allows people to communicate. 

There could also be some spiritual connection to the spot that you were on.  Was it a grave yard?  What significance does it hold?  Go back.  Be respectful.  Ask questions.  Sometimes, spirits can communicate via EVP's (voice recordings) that can't be heard normally, they can communicate through apparition or talking or by pictures or dreams.  Its varied as to how they choose to appear.

It seems that you have psychic abilities which also need to be developed.  Again, the theme of taking off one's blinder's or being blind and then seeing.
