I think the answer is probably, yes, you should. If the new translation you find is by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky, (Penguin Modern Classics ISBN 0141187794 in the UK), they're peerless in their attention to the nuances of Russian culture (they've been working their way through Dostoevsky's books too), and, quite apart from anything else, it's a great book, so reading it again wouldn't hurt...(:-))
