Are built in cabinets outdated if I begin them with updated door type. I want to begin the project and I seem of have all the clamps, routers etc. I don't want to begin something that would not give me a good resale within the next 5 years.

I don't think that they are outdated. I think if done with a modern look, then you should have no problem with resale.
