No, don't need to start with a coach or a consultant, start by itemizing (make a list if you're a list maker) how you spend your free time, and what you like to do in the temporary jobs you do hold down.  What are you good at?  Then look for jobs that spend most of their time doing the things you like.  I think some sites like monster.com and careerbuilder.com have articles and online tools to help you identify your dream jobs - not 100% sure because I haven't been to either site lately, but I'd be surprised if they didn't.
