Budgeting to Upkeep an Old Car

I "inherited" a car (my brother gave me his old car because he bought a new one). I want to be prepared in terms of budget. What auto parts usually get broken first?

Hi,

     It depends if it is still in a good driving condition, you may take it to some car repair shops and get 3-4 different estimates , and then you can decide if repairing it or reconditioning it saves you a lot of money in the long run.

There are always additional costs involved in keeping a car such as road tax and testing (depending on where you live). Car insurance is another cost. Although it is possible to get discount car insurance it is still an important cost to factor
