Some buddhists are vegetarians and some are not. It all comes down to personal choice and preference. It is impossible to obtain food that has not been produced at the expense of sentient beings. We can only be responsable for our actions and bring about a maximum of care for others.

This is a big debate. I suggest you search using Google for differing opinions to mine ;-)
