Breast lumps

I am a 14 year old athletic, skinny, male and seem to have extra tissue in my chest. I went to a doctor and he said it was a regular breast lump that most males going through puberty have. I have these lumps behind both nipples and they are almost 3 cm in diameter. How long will I most likely have it? What can I do to help it go away, and what are things that will make it worse?

I'm the type of girl who will burst out laughing in dead silence because of something that happened yesterday.

I'm not familiar with this condition. I think you'd be best off asking your doctor what can be done to eliminate or decrease the size of these lumps, as well as how long you are likely to have them for. Good luck.

You probably just have normal breasts. Men do have breasts, although usually not as big as women. If you are unsure, ask a doctor to look at them.

I agree with other posters; make sure you see a doctor to keep track of whether these lumps change in size, etc...if not satisfied with a general practitioner, get a second opinion...

It is called gynecomastia which is a normal process in people through puberty age. It is somehow unusual that they are 3cm in size.

Puberty Gynecomastia may last up to 2 years.
