Braking a tooth

Suppose someone broke a tooth. Should he try to stick it in while rushing to the dentist ?

Probably not.

The tooth enamel will have to be glued together anyway, and most likely the tooth will have to be sanded to allow for the glue or whatever dentists use. I think it's not like a live organ which has blood vessels, and therefore attaching the severed part is important.

No, don't try to stick it, it's not made of plastic, but rush to the dentist as soon as possible.
The tooth is made up of enamel, dentin and pulp. The enamel is its outer coating and although it is the hardest substance in the human body it can be broken. Dentin, the main part of the tooth, is underneath the enamel. If enough enamel breaks off the dentin is exposed and the tooth becomes sensitive. The pulp is the fleshy part of the tooth and includes. If the tooth is broken down to the pulp it might cause pain and bleeding.
So, when a tooth is broken one should call a dentist right away to schedule an appointment (some dentists offer twenty-four hour emergency care). If there's no immediate dentist appointment it's better to go to the emergency room. then, one should rinse his or her mouth out with warm water, to stop or slow down the bleeding, as well cleaning the wound. Then, one should put ice on the injured part of the mouth, to reduce the swelling of the area and to relieve pain. If there is a lot of pain taking an over-the-counter pain killer might help, but not aspirin which increase the amount of bleeding by making the blood thin.
If it is possible to find the broken pieces of tooth or the entire tooth, it's better to collect them and rinse them in water. If it is the entire tooth, it's better to hold it from the end opposite the roots when rinsing it off. then, the tooth should be placed in a container of cool water for the dentist to "save" it.

If a tooth is fractured, the lost piece is of no use. It cannot be affixed back to the remaining structure. The denyist must bond a composite material to the remaining crown.

If a tooth is completely avulsed, and you have it intact in your hand, place it under your tongue, and get to the dentist immediately. Keeping it unger your tounge keeps it at body temperature, keeps it clean, and sometimes, keeps it alive, so the dentist can repace it in the Alveolus (socket)

Depends wether is broken off or complete tooth falls out due to trauma.  I have known people who pushed it back it, went to dentist and they saved it.  Don't know details.

If broken they ususally put a pin to strenghthen the tooth, after doing a root canal and then they build around it.  It is not a bad procedure.  Had it done with a fractured tooth.  Lasted for years and years until ran off the road by a camper and hit mouth in same area.
