For several years, I had severe heal pain.  When getting out of bed in the morning, I could hardly walk.  Finally saw a Podiatrist.  She said I had Plantar Faciatis and gave me a cortisone shot which immediately helped.  She also gave me a pair of special inserts (POWERSTEP PRO) to put inside my shoe (tennis shoes).  She said to wear good tennis shoes.  Both helped, but since then, I have been using the inserts called Walk-Fit and they are AWESOME!  They align your entire body.

She also told me that surgeryseldom works and takes a long time to heal.

I have been doing a stretch that has also helped a lot....sit in a regular chair and put your feet flat against a wall and keep them flat on the wall for several minutes.  Do this several times a day.  It sure helped me!

Bone spurs on the feet can be removed surgically under conscious sedation. No general anesthesia is needed.
