Bollywood movies are going urban

In recent years I have noticed that Bollywood films are shooted on western urban locations. For example I can mention films such "Kal Ho na Ho" and "Kabhi Alvida Naa, Kehna".

What has happend to the green landscapes of northern India or the shores of the south?

I can be altruistic. when it suits me.

I don't think it's going urban, i think it's going WESTERN.

Incorrectly, bollywood studios misinterpret the local scenery as naive ad quaint. somewhat outdated. So they switched to more "hollywood-like" scenery in hope to become similar to the western example of "good film industry".

There are just so many wrong things with that perception...

That's my 2 cents, anyway...

Well India is developing and more people are moving to cities , the outdoor landscape is becoming less relevant for more viewers. Also India becomes more modern , so does her heroes and their surrounding.

If our gods live in the great outdoors our new gods live in great cities !

You're right. Lot of movies are western style and now they are copying Hollywood stories also. Recent movies of Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are proving it true.
