Tahaan learned only hatred from his Muslim elders.
I learned love from my Christian elders.
That is the difference.
I sure listen to MY elders! They have been our way before and have lots of good ideas! All too often, they have to look back on bad mistakes and show us an embarrassing object lesson.
One of the reasons my parents took me out of public school was that the teachers weren't very good. The local school district had too many people and not enough money, so they got the cheapest teachers they could hire -- some were genuine leftist sleazebuckets.
Another of the reasons was that I didn't have to put up with rotten kids in home schooling. That is why I was done with High School at fifteen and in the University at sixteen -- on full scholarship. I learned more from my grandmother and grandfather in rocking chairs about the world than I could have with those little lunatics who just grated on everyone's nerves. At nineteen, I has a BSME degree.
I now design downhole tools for MacKey Oil. My tools allow our drillers to steer a tight twisty course, avoiding quartz and that puts us straight into subterranean pools.
MacKey sells to ARCO, one of the few domestic oil producers still in business. I do some subcontract work for Schlumberger Oil, and they sell half their production to MacKey.
If I hadn't listened to my elders, I would never have earned a degree.
